Ajoy Mallik is a Partner of the Aster Club. He leads the Club’s activities in the West Coast USA and Asia and the direct investment activities in technology. Ajoy brings years of experience starting, funding and managing start-up companies.

He is also a Founding Managing Partner at Follow[the]seed, an early stage data-driven venture fund, that invests in consumer and enterprise-focused technology startups across Australia, US, China, and Israel. He indulges other part-time roles to continuously enhance my learning and to contribute in scale. He is an interim CEO for one of the companies, a venture partner at a partner crypto fund, and an advisor to the CEO of an Israeli startup in gamification, in addition to his personal investments and board level responsibilities to his portfolio.

He co-founded corporate venture and innovation business units at TATA and Cognizant. As a senior executive and global head of these revenue-generating corporate businesses, he run such businesses for a total of about 12 years. He was part of the founding team at Odesk back in the early 2000s, now rebranded as Upwork, shy of $2Billion USD in gross revenues.

He had the pleasure of learning from several startups that he had been associated with either as an advisor or investor, that have failed for various reasons.
